Privacy

The short version

Scripts and recordings live on your device. They stay there unless you turn on a feature that cannot work without sending them somewhere, and each of those is named below. You can use the whole prompter without an account, without a card, and without ever sending us anything.

What stays on your device

• Your scripts. Written and stored on the device you wrote them on.
• Your recordings. Video and audio you capture are saved on the device and never uploaded on their own.
• Your settings, including follow mode, countdown, recording quality and how much of your monthly allowance you have used.
• Crash diagnostics. When something goes wrong the app keeps a local record so it can tell you what happened. It is not sent anywhere. If that ever changes, there will be a setting asking you first, and this page will say so before it does.

What leaves your device, and when

Voice follow and audio follow

Voice follow works by listening to you and matching what you say against your script. It uses the speech recognition built into your browser or your phone, and on most browsers that means your microphone audio is sent to the browser maker's speech service to be turned into words. We do not receive that audio and we do not store it, but it does leave your device, and what happens to it there is governed by that company's privacy policy rather than by this one.

Two alternatives, if that matters to you. Audio follow moves the script on how loudly you are speaking rather than on the words, so nothing is transcribed and no audio leaves the device. Timed scroll uses no microphone at all.

An account

You can read and record without one. Signing in is needed for sync and for backing up takes. If you sign in we hold your email address and an account identifier, through Google's identity service. Signing in with Google or with a password both work; either way we never see or store your password.

Sync

Turning on sync copies your script titles and script text to your account so the same scripts appear on your other devices. It is stored under your account identifier, readable only by you, and it happens only while you are signed in. If you never sign in, scripts never leave the device.

Backing up takes

Backing up a take uploads that video file to storage held for your account. Nobody else can read it. It happens only while you are signed in with backup turned on, and only for takes recorded while it is on.

Deleting a take inside the app removes it from that device. If it had been backed up, ask us and we will remove the stored copy too, or delete your account, which removes every stored file under it.

The AI features

Rewriting, drafting, translating and transliterating a script send the text of that script to Google's generative models through Google's AI service, which returns a suggestion for you to accept or discard. Only the text you asked about is sent. Your recordings are never sent. These features are on the web app only.

Removing filler words

Cutting the ums and the dead air out of a take happens entirely on your device. The transcription that finds them runs locally, the cut is made locally, and the recording never leaves the machine it was made on.

Paying

Payments are handled by Razorpay. Card and bank details are entered on their surface and go to them, not to us. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, which plan it was for, and when it renews. We never see your card number.

Keeping the servers honest

Requests from the app to our servers carry a token proving they came from the real app rather than from a script, using Google's reCAPTCHA Enterprise. Your IP address is visible to our servers when you make a request, as it is to any website, and it is used to apply the correct regional price and to stop abuse.

Counting visits

We would like to count visits, how long a page was open, and which link someone arrived from. We use Google Analytics for it, and your IP address is shortened before it is stored.

None of it runs until you say yes. The first time you open this website you are asked, and nothing is loaded or sent before you answer. Say no and no tag is ever fetched. Inside the app the switch lives in Settings, under Privacy, and it starts off.

What it records is which page or screen was opened and for how long. No script text, no recording, no board page and no email address is ever part of it, here or in the app. If you say yes, Google Analytics stores a cookie in your browser to tell one visit from the next. You can change your mind at any time: turn the switch off in Settings, or clear this site's data to be asked again here.

What we never collect

• The contents of your recordings, unless you back them up to your own account.
• The text of your scripts, unless you turn on sync or ask an AI feature about them.
• Your contacts, your location, your other apps, or anything on your device outside LensFloat.
• Advertising identifiers. There is no advertising in LensFloat and your data is never sold or shared for it.

Permissions the app asks for, and why

• Microphone, so voice and audio follow can hear you, and so a take has sound. Asked for the first time you use one.
• Camera, only when you open camera mode to record yourself.
• Drawing over other apps, only if you use the floating window, which is what lets your script sit over the app you are presenting from.

Each is asked for at the moment it is needed, and refusing one leaves the rest of the app working.

How long things are kept

Anything on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Synced scripts and backed-up takes stay until you delete them or close your account. Records of a payment are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your choices

• Use the prompter with no account at all.
• Delete any script or take from inside the app, which deletes any stored copy with it.
• Delete your account from inside the app, or ask us to, which removes your synced scripts, your stored takes and the account itself. Where it cannot be done immediately it is completed within 30 days, and we confirm when it is.
• Ask for a copy of what is held under your account.
• Use the app signed out, which counts nothing at all.
• Turn off the visit counting described above with your browser's tracking protection or any content blocker. Nothing in the product stops working when you do.

Children

LensFloat is not designed for children under 13 and we do not knowingly hold data about them. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and it will be removed.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that affects what leaves your device, the change is described here with its date, and the date at the top moves. Where the law requires us to tell you directly before such a change takes effect, we will.
